Dr. Alicia Gallegos Butters is the Director of Educational Technology at the San Diego County Office of Education. In this role, she leads initiatives, sets goals, and collaborates on the strategic vision for educational technology throughout San Diego County. She also supports schools across the county in implementing both new and existing technologies.
With over 30 years of experience in education, Dr. Gallegos Butters has served as a classroom teacher, university administrator, and county administrator. She has been a passionate advocate for educational technology since her early teaching days in the 1990s. Additionally, she has spent a decade teaching at the College of Education at San Diego State University.
In her free time, Dr. Gallegos Butters loves traveling and spending quality time with her family, which includes her soon-to-be-retired SDFD firefighter husband, their three grown daughters, and Agnus, the dog.
